As the business has grown, so too has our need for office space. We were lucky enough to find a cool brick and beam space in South Boston which wouldn’t break the bank. It’s former renovation was a hodge-podge of different flooring materials, partition walls and most importantly, it lacked a private bathroom. We opened the space up and put down new Hickory flooring and new industrial style lighting. We built a conference room with a glass garage door to one side, and a custom built sliding fire door to the other side. We took out the old kitchenette and transformed it into a custom bath with firehouse style shower and faucet valves, an apothecary cabinet from Restoration Hardware and a classic subway tile surround.
In the main space, we set up 5 reclaimed wood and white painted metal desks and a matching conference table from Restoration Hardware. We took cues from mid-century modern design with Eames Chairs by Herman Miller at the conference tables and Wassily Chairs by Knoll in the lounge. The most fun was our “Ikea hack” wall storage unit which is comprised of (12) Kallax Shelving organizers which we modified to create a nearly 10’ tall by 30’ long storage wall.
